Cloud infrastructure and DevOps in Pune
Industrial software from Pune rarely lives only in the cloud. A plant's internet link can drop for hours, some customers will not let production data leave the site, and machines on the floor need answers faster than a round trip to a data centre. So the product runs partly on a small server in the plant and partly in the cloud, and keeping dozens of those plant installations updated, monitored and consistent becomes the real operational problem.
We build that two-level infrastructure. Lightweight Kubernetes such as K3s on the plant servers, deployed and updated from a central Git repository, local buffering so nothing is lost when the link drops, and cloud services in Terraform for everything that can run centrally. Monitoring covers every site, and alerts page a person only when a person is needed. We run our own K3s cluster in production, so we know where it helps and where it hurts.
Pune runs two economies inside one metropolitan area. It is one of India's most important automobile and manufacturing hubs, with plants in Chakan, Pimpri-Chinchwad and Talegaon; Chakan alone hosts vehicle plants for Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Bajaj Auto, Mahindra and Jaguar Land Rover, surrounded by hundreds of component suppliers. It is also one of the country's largest IT hubs, spread across Hinjewadi, Kharadi, Baner and Viman Nagar. And it makes vaccines: the Serum Institute of India, the world's largest vaccine manufacturer, is here too.
The most interesting software problems sit where those economies meet. Carmakers expect their suppliers to exchange schedules, shipping notices, drawings and quality documents electronically, and to keep up when the format changes. Plants want to know why a line stopped, which machine keeps failing and what the real output was per shift, but the data sits in machine controllers, a manufacturing execution system, an ERP and a supervisor's register, none of which agree. Industrial software startups, often founded by engineers who know those plants from the inside, are building products to fix exactly that, and selling them in India and abroad.

We run our own on Hetzner, so we know what that job involves. If nobody on your side wants it, managed is cheaper in total even when the invoice is larger.
Do we need Kubernetes at all?+
Often not. Plenty of products are better served by a managed container service, a platform like Railway, or two virtual machines and a good deploy script. Kubernetes earns its place when you run several services, have steady traffic and have people to look after it. We will recommend the least infrastructure that does the job, and say so when that is less than you expected.
Which clouds do you work with?+
AWS most often, then Google Cloud, Azure and Hetzner. We work in whichever one you are already on, because moving clouds is rarely the cheapest fix for a cost or reliability problem. If we think a move is worth it, we will show you the case using your own bill before anyone migrates anything.
Can you cut our cloud bill without a migration?+
Usually, yes. Most of a bill that has grown unchecked is idle capacity, oversized instances, environments left running and data transfer nobody priced, and all of that is fixed where you already are. We will not promise a percentage before we have read the bill. After the first week we can tell you what is realistic and what it takes to get there.
Who is on call?+
Whoever the engagement says, in writing. While we run your infrastructure it can be us, with hours and response times agreed up front. If you are taking it in-house, the handover includes the runbooks, the alert routing and a rota your team can actually staff. We do not leave behind a pager that only we know how to answer.
