Cloud infrastructure and DevOps in Miami
Miami fintechs grow fast, and the infrastructure usually grows faster than anyone planned. The first environment was set up by a founder, access was shared to move quickly, and deploys still run from one engineer's laptop. Then the bank partner sets a launch date, the team doubles, and nobody is sure who can reach production, how access is removed when someone leaves, or whether last night's backup would restore.
We set up infrastructure so those answers are written down and checkable: everything defined in Terraform, access through named accounts with no shared keys, deploys from CI rather than from a laptop, logs retained and searchable, and restores tested rather than assumed. We work on AWS and other major clouds, and on self-hosted Kubernetes where the economics favour it. On the call we will tell you which we think fits, and why.
Miami's software buyers tend to face south. Many of the companies that set up here in the last few years came for the same reason: it is where a US-incorporated business can sit next to its Latin American customers, investors and staff. Cross-border payments, remittances, neobanks, crypto infrastructure and the US arms of Latin American companies make up a large part of the local technology market, alongside real estate, hospitality and trade. The systems they need are rarely built for one country.
That shapes the work. Money movement is the core of the product rather than a feature bolted onto it: idempotent payment calls, a double-entry ledger, reconciliation jobs that compare your records against a partner's settlement file every night and flag the difference. The product has to handle Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese properly, validate local ID numbers and address formats, and settle through rails such as Pix in Brazil and SPEI in Mexico as well as cards. Crypto products add wallets, chain indexers and custody integrations, and the same principle applies: your database has to agree with the chain, and when it drifts, somebody needs a report saying where. Real estate, hospitality and trade bring their own version of the problem, usually a workbook that runs the business and quietly disagrees with its copies.
The hiring market has moved with the migration of finance and technology firms from New York and California. Built In puts the average base salary for a software engineer in Miami at around $145,000, and engineers who are bilingual and have shipped payments work are the hardest seat to fill. How do you work with teams in Miami?+
We are in Bengaluru and move our working day for Florida, so four hours of every working day overlap with your morning in Eastern time, stand-up included. Can you build for Latin American markets as well as the US?+
Yes, and it is more than translation. Mexican and Argentinian Spanish differ, Brazilian Portuguese is its own language, and ID numbers, address formats, currencies and instalment payments all change by country. We design localisation into the first component, format money through the platform's own internationalisation tools, and integrate the payments provider you have chosen, with room for a second provider and local rails such as Pix and SPEI.

Usually not. Self-hosting starts to pay when your managed bill is mostly things you do not use, your workloads are steady rather than spiky, and someone is willing to own the control plane. We run our own on Hetzner, so we know what that job involves. If nobody on your side wants it, managed is cheaper in total even when the invoice is larger.
Do we need Kubernetes at all?+
Often not. Plenty of products are better served by a managed container service, a platform like Railway, or two virtual machines and a good deploy script. Kubernetes earns its place when you run several services, have steady traffic and have people to look after it. We will recommend the least infrastructure that does the job, and say so when that is less than you expected.
Which clouds do you work with?+
AWS most often, then Google Cloud, Azure and Hetzner. We work in whichever one you are already on, because moving clouds is rarely the cheapest fix for a cost or reliability problem. If we think a move is worth it, we will show you the case using your own bill before anyone migrates anything.
Can you cut our cloud bill without a migration?+
Usually, yes. Most of a bill that has grown unchecked is idle capacity, oversized instances, environments left running and data transfer nobody priced, and all of that is fixed where you already are. We will not promise a percentage before we have read the bill. After the first week we can tell you what is realistic and what it takes to get there.
Who is on call?+
Whoever the engagement says, in writing. While we run your infrastructure it can be us, with hours and response times agreed up front. If you are taking it in-house, the handover includes the runbooks, the alert routing and a rota your team can actually staff. We do not leave behind a pager that only we know how to answer.
